Explore Women-Owned Businesses
Women-Owned Businesses are a catalyst for change.
Women-Owned Businesses (WOBs) pay better wages, hire more diverse teams and implement gender fair policies. The 12.3 million WOBs employ 9.2 million workers in the U.S. and generate $1.8 trillion in revenue. When WOBs thrive, so do their employees and by extension, their families and communities.
By consciously re-directing our consumer spend, we could elevate the economic well-being of women and their families by supporting the growth and success of Women-Owned Businesses. So what are we waiting for?
Women-Owned Businesses are grossly underfunded, limiting their capacity to grow.
Women receive less than 4% of the $700 billion in available capital - not because their businesses aren't sound; not because they don't generate enough revenue; and not because they don't have the skills that their competitors have. WOBs face gender bias at investment firms, as well as, at financial and lending institutions, because there are few women in decision-making positions and that's not changing anytime soon. Without this funding, the challenges WOBs face include: having smaller marketing budgets to reach consumers; less resources to acquire or hire to fill knowledge gaps; and require extra hours to research and meet with the funders that do invest or lend to women.
equallet is an ecosystem that connects female founders, conscious consumers and social impact investors to level the economic playing field for women.
We have designed a mobile responsive site, community-focused events and data-driven programs to support the growth and success of WOBS.
Accelerate the path to gender equality to reach 50/50 by 2030.
At the current rate, we won't achieve gender equality until 2095. As far as we're concerned, that's 65 years too late. We have set three goals to achieve by 2030 and invite consicous consumers and WOBs to help us achieve them...together!
